Getting in

• Ivalo Airport: This is the practical airport for Inari, roughly 50 km south. Take the scheduled airport coach/bus toward Inari when it matches your flight; allow about 1 hour and roughly €15–25. Timetables are thin and seasonal, so book/check the specific flight connection before committing to accommodation. A pre-booked taxi is the fallback, not the bargain option—expect roughly €100 or more for the distance, especially outside daytime.
• Rovaniemi Railway Station: For a lower-carbon or sleeper-train approach from southern Finland, take the train to Rovaniemi, then an Eskelinen/long-distance coach north on E75 toward Inari/Utsjoki. Allow about 4½–5½ hours from Rovaniemi station to Inari, plus connection time; coach fares vary materially by date and booking, so treat €35–60 as a planning range. It is sensible only if the overnight train schedule works; flying to Ivalo is far less punishing.
• Rovaniemi Airport: There is no rail link onward to Inari. Transfer into Rovaniemi and use the northbound long-distance coach on E75; total airport-to-Inari time is generally about 5–6 hours once the airport transfer and connection are included. It can work when flights to Ivalo are poor, but it is not a convenient substitute for IVL.
