Hungary is open and functioning as a normal leisure destination. Recent official travel advice from several governments is generally low-risk, with the main concerns being petty crime, occasional demonstrations in Budapest, and routine Europe-wide terrorism awareness. International tourists are still going, though recent summer 2026 foreign-arrival data softened somewhat.
