Faro Airport: The useful public-transport option is the direct Faro Airport–Lagos coach when its timetable matches your flight: about 1 hr 55 min and roughly €17, with tickets sold at the airport machine or by the driver (carry a card and some cash). If the direct service does not line up, take the airport bus into Faro, then use the Algarve rail/bus network; it is slower and commonly involves a change, so do not assume the train is a seamless airport transfer. A pre-booked car transfer is sensible for late arrivals or groups, but a taxi direct from Faro is poor value unless shared.
Lagos railway station: The station is on the marina, about a 10–15-minute walk over the pedestrian bridge to the old town. Algarve regional trains connect Lagos with Portimão, Albufeira/Ferreiras and Faro, often with a change at Tunes for longer-distance services. It is a practical arrival point, not a grand central station: check the last connection before relying on it.
Lagos bus terminal: Long-distance and regional coaches use the terminal north of the centre, roughly a 15–20-minute walk from the old town or a short taxi/Bolt ride. It is often more useful than the train for Algarve-to-Algarve journeys, especially toward the western coast.
