For the final chained ridge beyond Scout Lookout, obtain an Angels Landing permit through Recreation.gov. For a last-minute trip, enter the day-before lottery on Recreation.gov between 12:01 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time the day before hiking; notifications arrive by 4:00 p.m. Download or print the permit, and carry photo ID—the named permit holder must hike with the group. If unsuccessful, hike to Scout Lookout or continue on the West Rim Trail; do not use a transferred permit. Park admission is separate from the hike permit.
